The CHA Show opened on Sunday with bagpipes - I think in all the years I’ve attended the show I’ve never been early enough to see the band (apparently it happens every year!)- this was the 71st show, and the 9 or 10th show I’ve attended! It was much smaller than usual - a sign of the economy but the good news was it was much easier to get around and all my favourite companies were present including Impression Obsession, Copic, Spellbinders, Dreamweaver and obviously many more - too many to mention!
I took a photo of Mitra from Impression Obsession enjoying an ice-creamon her stand but unfortunately it was blurred so I won’t show it! Mitra has extended her fantastic selection of Cover a Card stamps, and yes I’ve ordered and delivery should be here this week; 
Copic girls were busy showing their fantastic colouring and airbrushing skills.
Look what Marianne was colouring - it looked fantastic and she only had a small number of markers!
On the Stampavie stand I was fortunate to meet the talented Suzi Blu who insisted on having someone in the photo with her!!
her stamps are really different and will be available shortly. Suzi and other new images from Stampavie will be added to website soon…

California was wonderfully warm around 22/24* so coming home on Thursday to -5* was a bit of a shock!! Whilst in Anaheim I was delighted to see my first hummingbird one lunchtime time whilst enjoying the sunshine. It was enjoying the nectar of the bird of paradise flower (how appropriate!). The hummingbird was too quick but here’s a photo of the flower!
I also enjoyed my walk to Downtown Disney to buy T-shirts for my little niece and nephews, and couldn’t resist a photo of the railway station with the floral Mickey Mouse!
I was able to see the Saturday evening Disney firework show from my hotel balcony and they were stunning -
However the best part of the trip for me was meeting my friends Mitra from Impression Obsession, and the Copic Girls - Marianne Walker, Sherrie Siemens and Debbie Olsen, taking the new Copic Classes (details in next blog entry) and seeing all the products and inspiration at the CHA Show.

Today is my gorgeous nephew’s 23rd birthday - boy that makes me feel old! Seems like only yesterday I was 23 - where does the time go! Here’s the card I produced for his birthday -

Today was my Mum’s birthday and I made this easel card for her birthday which naturally has been coloured with the fabulous COPIC markers.
I used lots and lots of markers including:
YG000, YG00, YG03 and YG05 Wings
E31, E33, E35, e37 Hair
E000, E50, E11 Skin
BV00, BV02, BV04 Dress
C1 for shadowing

Great news for COPIC fans. There will be 12 new colours released in 2012 including: G43 Pistachio, G46 Mistletoe, BG57 Jasper, BG90 Gray Sky, E84 Khaki, E89 Pecan, BV34 Bluebell, V22 Ash Lavender, V28 Eggplant, RV52 Cotton Candy, R56 Currant, YR27 Tuscan Orange - making the total of 358 colours!
I have added the new set and individual colours to the website for PRE-ORDERS. Delivery is due end of February 2012, so in time for the next COPICific Retreat! I will ship any pre-orders as soon as they arrive. Please note no payment will be taken until goods are ready to ship if you order by telephone… unfortunately paypal (website) automatically takes payment at time of order.

Annoucing NEW COPICific Classes for 2012… I’ll be offering both the Introduction the Introduction to Copic Alcohol Markers, Next Step with Copic Alcohol Markers and the official Copic Certification at the following venues.

Our successful Oxfordshire COPICific Retreat will be returning again in March 2012 and will be both educational and fun too. Denyse who attended the previous retreats said ““Had a wonderful weekend in the company of like minded friends both old and new. Learned new techniques and every lesson was an inspiration and springboard for new ideas. The Autumn Retreat will be returning again to Oxfordshire on 27-28th October and we will be introducing the COPICific Retreat to our northern friends on the 3-4th November.

Working hard at the second COPICific Retreat in 2011 !!!
The third COPICific RETREAT is returning to the lovely Milton House Hotel in Oxfordshire in March 2012. The classes will include NEW techniques including colouring tricky situations, shadows and shading, colouring hair, faces and skin and much more.. Classes will be taught by Wendy Kadzidlo (UK Copic Certifed Regional Instructor) and Karen Watson (Copic Certified Designer) who makes the most gorgeous cards as seen regularly in Cardmaking & Papercrafting magazine.
The retreat normally costs £335 including accomodation, meals and supplies but if you book before 31st December you will pay just £300. The retreat starts at 9:00am on Saturday 10th March and closes around 3:00pm on Sunday 11th March 2012. Day delegate rates are available for people who live locally and wish to attend the classes only - lunches will be included. Payment options are available - ask for details…
Numbers are kept low to ensure everyone receives personal attention…
