What a gorgeous day it is here in Berkshire (UK) - the sun is shining and is really feels like Spring. My favourite flowers - daffodils are looking wonderful in my garden. I always feel more cheerful when the daffodils arrive - maybe it’s their bright colours or maybe it because you know that the dark gloomy days have gone for another year, and SPRING HAS ARRIVED…..I thought I’d share a daffodil card today and say HAPPY SPRING TO EVERYONE:)

They’ve arrived and ready to be shipped!!!! The fantastic new COPIC Colours for 2012 are available individually or as a set EX6 - which contains all 12 of the new Copic Sketch Markers.
The new colours are:
G43 & G46: These complete the G40 sequence. These are great greens…not too bright, not too yellow, not too gray. A new must-have green sequence.
BG57: This goes with last year’s new color, BG53. These are not as bright as the BG40’s but more vibrant than BG70’s family.
BG90: A new, beautiful pale, gray BG to go with the other BG90’s colors
E84 & E89: These were developed as a nice, slightly greenish brown sequence to match last year’s E87
BV34: Poor old BV31 has been alone for so long, but now it has a darker companion color. A lovely grayish BV color.
V22 & V28: This completes the V20 & V25 sequence. These were developed to be nice purples without hints of pink or blue, but are slightly grayish.
RV52: A bright, but pale pink to go with RV55 from last year.
R56: For too long R59 has been alone. This is one of my new favorite, must-have colors. I sequence this with E04-R56-R59. Try it and trust me 
YR27: This is a wonderful orange, not as brown as the E90’s sequence, and not as intense as YR18. It fills out the other beautiful YR20’s colors

Whilst in Anaheim I had the opportunity to play with the fabulous 12 new colours and knowing you’d like to see the colours took the opportunity to do a quick swatch chart. I love them all but BG57 is particularly catching my eye, but then again the G43 and G46 are too, and R56 will be so useful and then there’s….. see I need them all!!:

As the UK Copic Regional Instructor I like to ensure my skills and knowledge are kept up to date. The main reason for my recent trip to California was to take the COPIC Intermediate Certification Class. I did it and to prove it here’s my certificate!!
The class ran from 9am to 7pm, was inspirational, great fun, with lovely people. Subjects covered on the new class included -
— Shading, shadows, and color
— Coloring tricky situations (trees, reds, faces & skin tones, hair)
— Improving design on your own - Self Critique
and more
I will be offering my version of this class later - details will be announced online; alternatively if you are interested please email to register your interest and I’ll let you know when there is a class in your area.

The CHA Show opened on Sunday with bagpipes - I think in all the years I’ve attended the show I’ve never been early enough to see the band (apparently it happens every year!)- this was the 71st show, and the 9 or 10th show I’ve attended! It was much smaller than usual - a sign of the economy but the good news was it was much easier to get around and all my favourite companies were present including Impression Obsession, Copic, Spellbinders, Dreamweaver and obviously many more - too many to mention!
I took a photo of Mitra from Impression Obsession enjoying an ice-creamon her stand but unfortunately it was blurred so I won’t show it! Mitra has extended her fantastic selection of Cover a Card stamps, and yes I’ve ordered and delivery should be here this week; 
Copic girls were busy showing their fantastic colouring and airbrushing skills.
Look what Marianne was colouring - it looked fantastic and she only had a small number of markers!
On the Stampavie stand I was fortunate to meet the talented Suzi Blu who insisted on having someone in the photo with her!!
her stamps are really different and will be available shortly. Suzi and other new images from Stampavie will be added to website soon…
On the Ranger stand - Three Wendy’s!! In the middle is the talented Wendy Vecchi

California was wonderfully warm around 22/24* so coming home on Thursday to -5* was a bit of a shock!! Whilst in Anaheim I was delighted to see my first hummingbird one lunchtime time whilst enjoying the sunshine. It was enjoying the nectar of the bird of paradise flower (how appropriate!). The hummingbird was too quick but here’s a photo of the flower!
I also enjoyed my walk to Downtown Disney to buy T-shirts for my little niece and nephews, and couldn’t resist a photo of the railway station with the floral Mickey Mouse!
I was able to see the Saturday evening Disney firework show from my hotel balcony and they were stunning -
However the best part of the trip for me was meeting my friends Mitra from Impression Obsession, and the Copic Girls - Marianne Walker, Sherrie Siemens and Debbie Olsen, taking the new Copic Classes (details in next blog entry) and seeing all the products and inspiration at the CHA Show.

Today is my gorgeous nephew’s 23rd birthday - boy that makes me feel old! Seems like only yesterday I was 23 - where does the time go! Here’s the card I produced for his birthday -

Today was my Mum’s birthday and I made this easel card for her birthday which naturally has been coloured with the fabulous COPIC markers.
I used lots and lots of markers including:

E31, E33, E35, e37 Hair
E000, E50, E11 Skin
BV00, BV02, BV04 Dress
C1 for shadowing
