Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

star-gazingI’ve just seen the Christmas catalogues from Impression Obsession and Stampavie and love them both.  I’m waiting for images from Impression Obsession but the new Stampavie ones have been added to my website for pre-order - they are soooo cute!!  The image shown above is from Laurence a new designer for Stampavie.  I cannot wait to play with the new stamps when they arrive - I’ve ordered lots but will there be any left for me?!!    More info will follow re Impression Obsession’s offering…

Happy Christmas Stamping Friends

Monday, December 7th, 2009

Tomorrow evening is our Stamping Friends Christmas Party where we’ll be enjoying mince pies, christmas music and our creative friends company.  Everyone brings a handmade christmas card which Santa distributes so everyone goes home with a card from Stamping Friends (this is the name of our club which I have been running since 1998).

This is the card I have made for the secret santa.  Whether you are a current member, a past member or someone blog hopping this card is  for you and Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and a  Happy & Creative New Year.

More Mice & Mistletoe

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

Just had to share this card with you.  Customers have already fallen in love with this cute Stampavie image (see our previous entry).  This card was made by one of the Stampavie Design Team and is absoutely gorgeous.  Note all the details - charms, punched shapes, ribbons etc.

Don’t forget if you are coming to Hobbycraft at the NEC, Birmingham this weekend to pop by stand F06 and say Hi!!

Xmas Teddy

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

This is what I shall be demonstrating at the NEC (whilst stocks last).  He’s  adorable, so cute… and there is a surprise with this card as it is an Easel card. (Instructions on how to make this card will follow soon together with a photo of the card standing up - it is really gorgeous).

img014

He has been coloured using Copics (R27, R29, E31, E33, E35, R20, and the blender pen).  Plus I used the Red and Olive Green Spica Glitter pens to colour the Holly and add sparkle.  Glamour Dust glitter has been added to the Santa hat .  The card has been cut using my new Nestabilities Label 9 and we ran a red inkpad around the card before layering and mounting the card.  The snowflake punch is Martha Stewart Collective Snowflake and is currently in stock (may not be after the NEC!).

Another version of this card, using a different colour scheme:  img015

The teddy has been coloured with Copics but this time I used W1 and W3, R20 and BG10 and BG15, plus B12 for the bird.  See if you can spot my deliberate error?  I added White Fun Flock by using my Quickie Glue pen to the santa hat for a nice effect,  The snowflake punch is a bargain at just £4.50.  I added a small clear rhinestone to the centre of the snowflake punched shapes.

All items shown here are currently available from stock.   If you cannot make the show but want to order the stamp the code is GR001 and it is called Bear and Robin and can be found in our online shop at www.stampsandmemories.co.uk, or just call our office on 01488 658728.  (Note we are closed from Wednesday 4th November to Monday 9th November).

I hope you like this cards.  This is my favourite image for 2009!

Happy Stamping, Wendy

The Joy of Giving

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

img007This image makes me think I should start my christmas shopping!!  The image is from Sarah Kay and is now back in stock.  She has been a popular stamp at the recent shows and looks great coloured with the Copics.  The card has been supplied by Heidi from Stampavie and designed by Michelle Oatman from her Design Team.    The Red Rhinestone borders and corners helps add that special classy touch.  Hope you like it…

Have you started your Christmas Cards yet?  If so how many have you made?  I guess with the postal strikes I should have made a start but have I ? Nope!!!  I have only made a few sample and demo cards so not setting a good example.  I always say that I will start earlier the next year but it doesn’t happen, with all the craft shows we exhibit at, they just isn’t enough hours in the day!!!  As always it will be a last minute rush..  So come on everyone put me to shame and tell me how many cards you have made for Christmas!!

Happy Stamping, Wendyx

Playing with Copics

Monday, August 10th, 2009

Just back from the Stevenage show and phew it was busy and hot!!  It was lovely to meet some of you at the show and to hear that you are a fan of our new blog!   We were demonstating various techniques using the Copics markers.  They are so versatile I really love them…  I had a little time to play before I start getting ready for the show, and wanted to create a snow background effect, so just did lots of  dots and I love the simply effect!  I used B01, B60 and a little  B12…  i3593As it was a quick card I didn’t even have time to colour in the top image but I think it looks quite nice anyway.  So here is the finished card.  i3604It’s made using the “Skating” stamp from Rachelle Miller SAV-RM039.  (All supplies are available online or by telephoning our office).

Rose’s Garden

Friday, July 10th, 2009

I’m sure you’ll agree that this is a really cute card.  Everyone seemed to love it at the recent Newbury Art Stamp show where it was one of the demos being shown using the Copic Ciao Marker pens.  It has been made by my good friend Jo Pegrum.  Notice the lovely blending on the trousers?  This has been achieved using the O blender pen to lighten.p71025301

The stamp used here is Rose’s Garden SAKNATSK7B .  Jo has just launched her new blog which can be found at http://www.joscraftycardcreations.blogspot.com   Hope you all have a nice weekend!
