Copic Debate 1

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

I have been asked today whether Copic Ciao Alcohol Markers should be stored horizonally or vertically?

ciao-sets

I store mine vertically (upright) in the Copic Display cases with the brush nibs pointing downwards as this is the nib I use most often.  (This probably stems from being told to store dye inkpads upside down!!).  However the markers can be stored either vertically or horizonally.  The most important thing is to make sure you replace the pen caps after use.

The Copic Ciao Markers are double ended with a brush nib one end and a chisel tip the other.  You can replace the nibs and the pens are refillable too.  The replacement nibs are now on order and should be here soon..

NB:  The Spica Glitter pens MUST stored horizonally as the glitter (micro glass) will clog the pen nib if you store vertically…  nibs_ciao1.

If you have any tips (no pun intended!!) join the debate ..

Sorry for the delay in posting but life is chaotic  - it’s show season!!!  What a busy show last week in Harrogate…  I come home shattered, but it was lovely to meet many of our customers whom we speak to on the telephone regularly but have never met before!

During the show,  Karen Watson demonstrated the Copic Ciao Markers and made some lovely cards including:

The Snowbunnybella card shown here

The card has been made by stamping the image with a Tuxedo Black Memento inkpad and colouring the image with Copics.  I believe the colours used were B93, B95, RV02, RV04, E00, Roo.  The image has then been trimmed using the Rectangle Nestabilities and mounted onto the card.  We have added Polar White Flowersoft to create a fur effect on the hat, boots and jacket cuffs.  The background paper is new in stock from Kaisercraft - if you would like to order any of the above please call our office on 01488 658728.  I hope you like the card?

I recently celebrated my birthday and have received some lovely cards so will upload the handmade ones soon.  Thank you to everyone who sent cards and good wishes.  It was very much appreciated.

Happy Stamping, Wendyx

Impression Obsession

i355This is K1006 Colonial Spring stamp designed by Gary Robertson.  The image has been stamped with Versafine Smoky Grey inkpad onto our Creative Smooth card.  I love this cardstock - it was originally stocked for using with our Copic markers but I now love to use it with chalks and pencils too!  I guess it is true what they say about having good foundations, and this card is definitely it!!  I have simply coloured with chalks using the tools which come with the chalk kits.  Tip 1:  The Neutral chalk set is really handy for landscape designs.  Tip 2:  Did you know that we stock a chalk eraser which will remove any errors?  I have found it really helpful.

The new Sparrow Martha Stewart punch  works beautiful just like cutting butter - a real joy to use!  and of course my favourite Doily punch  appears (again by Martha Stewart).  Any questions just let me know.  Happy Stamping.

I am just adding some new Impression Obsession house and landscape stamps to the online shop which will work great with the chalk techniques, and include some Christmas designs…. I know it’s only just August!!!
