Just thought I’d share the card I made for my sister’s birthday today.  I made it last night whilst visiting my Mum’s so had limited supplies but entertaining my Mum by asking her to choose papers and colours etc.    The stamp is Gardenia Greenthumbs from Stamping Bella which we have a few in stock (phone for details please), and the background paper is from our Alison Ellis paper range.  The Happy Birthday Sister stamps from from our exclusive Sentiments set which has all the words for family titles ie Auntie, Mum etc and all occasions - code is WP16.   Christine loves gardening so I thought it was just right for her!!   She mentioned that she doesn’t have the flowers in her hat …. yet!!!   Hope you like the card too!

From the kitchen…Chocolate

I am wearing…long turquoise skirt and white top

I am creating…nothing today but made my sister’s birthday card last night

I am going…to finish sorting my own craft cupboards this weekend!  There are new but will I fit all my supplies inside?!!  Probably not!

I am reading…Beatrix Potter’s biography

I am hoping…that we have a nice sunny day tomorrow

I am hearing…Tv on downstairs which hubby is listening too

Around the house…must unload dishwasher!!

One of my favorite things…spending time with family and friends and crafting

A few plans for the rest of the week…pretty much same as last week… must place new stock orders in time for the shows!   hopefully a fun day tomorrow with hubby as it is a bank holiday.

A photo to share… OMG - I hate photos!  Here is one of the most embarrashing photos of Mr MacGregor and me in Near Sawrey (former home of Beatrix Potter).  wendy-mr-macgregor-at-buckeyeat1

Butterfly Tree

Friday, August 28th, 2009

Last night it was my turn to travel to Devizes to visit my good friend Jo.  I took my new Butterfly Tree stamp which has been calling my name for a while!!  The stamp is from designer Leigh Hannan and is available as wood mounted or clingable.  It is a simple card but Jo tells me it looks good!!  I have simply stamped the image with Black Memento inkpad and coloured with the Copics (YG00, YG03, YG23 and YG41, BG10, E35), then mounted it onto green card (which had been cut with the Long Rectangle Scalloped Lg Nestabilities).  This was then mounted over TR3 Tickertape paper and to finish I coloured one of our white Petaloo flowers to co-ordinate and added some pearls.  Hope you like it!  Have a great bank holiday…   i380

I will be having a tidy of our stock room over the weekend so look out for our special offers coming soon….  I need to make room for all the new designs we have coming!!!

Messy Angel

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

Isn’t she adorable? …  this is one of the newly released Christmas Messy Rabbit designs from Joanna Sheen.  To create the card I stamped the image using the Black Memento inkpad onto our smooth card and then coloured with Copic Ciao markers (B60, B63, C01, Co3, R10).   The image has then been cut out using the oval nestabilities and mounted onto a blue/grey card which was cut with the oval scalloped nestabilities.  This was then layered and mounted over a 6×6 card and paper from the Winter Wonderland paper pack, then ribbon added.  To finish I coloured over the angel’s wings with the Clear Spica Glitter pen.  This adds a wonderful fine glitter and is a must have  for all year round (not just for Christmas!).  All items are available online.i379

Copic Classes

Monday, August 24th, 2009

The Kintbury Copic Class on Saturday was a great success.  It was lovely to be greeted by some fantastic emails  on Sunday from some of the class attendees, when i turned my computer on:

Jo Spicer said “Just had to drop you a note to say how much I enjoyed todays workshop. I found it very inspiring and it will breath a new life into many of my stamps, can’t wait to get started. Have already booked a crafty day tomorrow so hubby will have to amuse himself with the cricket again(yawn!!!).   One criticism though, now must have more of these pens!!!”

Val & Gemma Howard said ” Thankyou so much for a great class today, we really enjoyed ourselves and learnt so much…..now we need to practice!”

Val Morgan said “Just to say thank you to you and Karen for the class yesterday it was really great, I learnt so much. All the ladies were lovely as well to make a perfect day. Well must go now to fill in my colour chart, which means I will be ordering again. Love val xx”

Jo Pegrum said “ it was a great day, I learnt loads and have more pens!!  It was just nice to relax and socialise and generally chill out with no pressures and the company was fab.  I can’t wait for the next one”.I was so busy that I forgot to take any photos to share with you.

After the class and after having a break what do you think I did?   Of course made a Christmas card and coloured with……   Copics … what else!!!  Card is following in next post.

Our next Copic Classes is in Stevenage, Herts on Saturday 3rd October (already proving popular).  We are also planning another Copic Class in Lutterworth, Leicestershire and will be planning more later in the year.  If you would like a class near you, please let us know.

Playing with Copics

Monday, August 10th, 2009

Just back from the Stevenage show and phew it was busy and hot!!  It was lovely to meet some of you at the show and to hear that you are a fan of our new blog!   We were demonstating various techniques using the Copics markers.  They are so versatile I really love them…  I had a little time to play before I start getting ready for the show, and wanted to create a snow background effect, so just did lots of  dots and I love the simply effect!  I used B01, B60 and a little  B12…  i3593As it was a quick card I didn’t even have time to colour in the top image but I think it looks quite nice anyway.  So here is the finished card.  i3604It’s made using the “Skating” stamp from Rachelle Miller SAV-RM039.  (All supplies are available online or by telephoning our office).

snowman09I’m so excited - I’ve been looking for some nice new christmas papers to bring to my customers this year and look what I’ve found….  To me Christmas isn’t Christmas without watching The Snowman on TV… and now I can bring this “warm cosy christmas feeling” to my friends and family.   The range will be available on my website shortly for pre-order (or you can telephone my office 01488 658728)  and will include papers, stamps, chipboard etc…  I cannot wait but delivery is due end of August/beginning of September… so not too long to wait!

Berkshire Copic Class

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

Only a couple of weeks to our second Berkshire Copic Ciao class.  We still have a few spaces but it could easily sell out like the first class!  The class is being held in the pretty village of Kintbury which is situated in West Berkshire between Newbury and Hungerford, on Saturday 22nd August: and taught by Copic Certified Teachers - Karen Watson (as seen in Craft Magazines) and Wendy Kadzidlo.  Our aim is to teach you all you need to know about the Copic Ciao Markers so that you can use them confidentially to obtain professional results with your rubber stamps, and we will cover five blending techniques.

Comments from past delegates include:

I enjoyed the class tremendously.Annette xxx

Enjoyable day.  I learnt alot!  Gail Cumiskey

All four of us had a great day at the Copics class run by Wendy from Stamps and Memories. Karen taught us basic colouring techniques using the Copic pens and filled us in on all there is to know about Copics. Of course a few more pens came home with me and a couple of stamps. We had a great drive down and back, no hold ups on the motorways and with all the chatting going on it did not seem like 2 hours each way!! but thoroughly worth it. Cant wait to go on the next class for some more advanced techniques.  Jackie Da Silva

If you have any questions or are interested in booking for this class please either contact Wendy on 01488 658728 or book online at www.stampsandmemories.co.uk.

Happy Stamping, Wendy

Impression Obsession

Saturday, August 1st, 2009

i355This is K1006 Colonial Spring stamp designed by Gary Robertson.  The image has been stamped with Versafine Smoky Grey inkpad onto our Creative Smooth card.  I love this cardstock - it was originally stocked for using with our Copic markers but I now love to use it with chalks and pencils too!  I guess it is true what they say about having good foundations, and this card is definitely it!!  I have simply coloured with chalks using the tools which come with the chalk kits.  Tip 1:  The Neutral chalk set is really handy for landscape designs.  Tip 2:  Did you know that we stock a chalk eraser which will remove any errors?  I have found it really helpful.

The new Sparrow Martha Stewart punch  works beautiful just like cutting butter - a real joy to use!  and of course my favourite Doily punch  appears (again by Martha Stewart).  Any questions just let me know.  Happy Stamping.

I am just adding some new Impression Obsession house and landscape stamps to the online shop which will work great with the chalk techniques, and include some Christmas designs…. I know it’s only just August!!!
