Alexander Palace Show

Monday, September 28th, 2009

Whoops this entry was meant to have been sent prior to the show to tell you what was planned for the show including:  ” We have lots of stamp ranges to show you including our favourites Impression Obession (some nice new designs and now available as cling mounted), Stamping Bella, Stampavie including Sarah Kay, and Penny Black to name a few.    Caroline will be demonstrating with the Copic Ciao Markers (we have the new Pale Sketch sets in stock - please ask if you cannot find them on the stand), and I will be demonstrating with chalks!!”.

I typed this when I returned home on Friday night having set up but was obviously so tired that I forgot to publish it!  Anyway the show was really busy and everyone seemed to enjoy our demonstrations.  Stuart from Stampavie took this photo of our stand - ap0909

Birthday Cards

Monday, September 28th, 2009

As promised I have attached some of the lovely handmade cards I received for my birthday.  A big Thank You to everyone who sent cards…  I cannot believe I’m 41 now, the same age as my Mum was when she visted the Dr with what she assumed was bad indigestion to be told she was pregnant with me!!!!  What a shock it must have been for her!!!

Anyway here are some of the cards I received:

i3951

This gorgeous card was from my great friend Karen Watson (also a Design Team member).  She has used the Birthday Girl Stamping Bella stamp and coloured it with Copics.  She has also used the new Martha Stewart Loop punch.

i3961 This card is from my best friend Jo (another Design team member).  I’m not sure on the manufacturer of the stamp but I know she coloured the image with Copics!

i3982

This card is from Carole, a friend and a member of Stamping Friends.  It is based upon a Club evening technique of layering using punches.  She has used the Scallop Martha Stewart punch.

i399 Unfortunately the card from Margaret hasn’t scanned very well, but it is a lovely card.  Margaret is a member of our Stamping Friends club.

Finally this lovely cute card is from Samantha another Stamping Friends club member and also my niece!

I hope you have enjoyed seeing what some of my lovely crafty friends have made?

Men’s Cards

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

Would you believe that the Country Diaries of an Edwardian Lady CD contains wonderful images to create masculine cards?  Well it does…   I recently showed you a card (Autumn Card) which I made for my brother in law Richard; and today I have just made a belated birthday card (I know it’s late) for my brother in law Ron.   As you can see it was a simple card to make but looks quite effective.  I simple cut the image with my large rectangle nestabilities and then cut a co-ordinating mount using the rectangle scallop nestabilities.  The background paper was also from the CD and has been cut 2mm smaller than the card so that a white border is shown.  I used some of our ribbon and added some glossy accents to the image.  I thought about adding some rhinestones but choose not too for a masculine card.

Snowbunnybella

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

Sorry for the delay in posting but life is chaotic  - it’s show season!!!  What a busy show last week in Harrogate…  I come home shattered, but it was lovely to meet many of our customers whom we speak to on the telephone regularly but have never met before!

During the show,  Karen Watson demonstrated the Copic Ciao Markers and made some lovely cards including:

The Snowbunnybella card shown here

The card has been made by stamping the image with a Tuxedo Black Memento inkpad and colouring the image with Copics.  I believe the colours used were B93, B95, RV02, RV04, E00, Roo.  The image has then been trimmed using the Rectangle Nestabilities and mounted onto the card.  We have added Polar White Flowersoft to create a fur effect on the hat, boots and jacket cuffs.  The background paper is new in stock from Kaisercraft - if you would like to order any of the above please call our office on 01488 658728.  I hope you like the card?

I recently celebrated my birthday and have received some lovely cards so will upload the handmade ones soon.  Thank you to everyone who sent cards and good wishes.  It was very much appreciated.

Happy Stamping, Wendyx

Show Weekend

Friday, September 11th, 2009

make-a-wish-cardWell what a busy week we have had getting ready for the shows this weekend…  Yes I must be mad as we are exhiting at the Great Northern Papercraft show at the Harrogate Showground in North Yorkshire AND at the South Stamp Show in Worthing, West Sussex.  We usually  exhibit at both these events but there are normally on different weekends LOL!!  But this year they clashed…  So my great friends Caroline, Kim and Jenny are running the Worthing show whilst I’m up North with my other good friend Karen Watson and my hubby!!!  I’m shattered before I begin!!!!

I’ll tell you all about the Harrogate show next week.  If you want to see what other shows you can see us at check out the Shows section on our website.

The simple card shown here has been made with the Rita Marie’s Make a Wish range of papers (see our website for details).  If I could make a wish I would have already set my stand up and be ready for my friends and customers to arrive.  I always panic that I’m going to forget something important when I do a show…  I should know what I’m doing now though as have been doing it for almost 12 years!!!  If you could make a wish what would it be?

Have a great weekend and if you come to Harrogate make sure you visit our stand - we have two demonstations and lots of new things to tempt you with!!

New Messy Rabbit Angel

Sunday, September 6th, 2009

Just thought I’d share this card with you - unfortunately the pale pink looks white on the card but trust me it is a lovely shade of pink!!  I have used Copic C1 and the Clear Spica Glitter pen on the wings, W1 and W3 for the rabbit with a little R11 for the cheeks, RV000 and RV21 for the dress.  The Messy Rabbit was then cut out and adhered to the Messy Rabbit background paper with foam pad to create depth.  Again this is a quick and easy card that anyone could create.i387

Messy Rabbit Fairy

i3851My friend and stamping buddy Jo came over to visit last night to help me prepare samples for the forthcoming shows.  Next week is Worthing show (in West Sussex) and Harrogate show (in North Yorkshire) and yes crazy woman that I am, Stamps & Memories will be at both shows!!  Lots of new stock has arrived and more is arriving every day as the shows approach .

Jo has coloured this card with the Copic Ciao marker pens (cannot remember the colour codes - but see’s Jo’s blog as I’m sure she will!!).  She has layered the card with Rita Marie Fascination range of papers, and used the Martha Stewart doily punch to make a border.  The gorgeous new two-toned ribbons will be added to my website later this month.

If you can come to Worthing or Harrogate pop by and say Hi!!!

Autumn Card

Friday, September 4th, 2009

Well today is my brother in law’s Richard birthday so as he is a lover of nature I decided to use my new “Country Diaries of an Edwardian Lady” CD which has gorgeous nature waterpaintings for toppers, background papers, inserts and loads more including calenders, birthday planners, frames and poems etc…  There are two CD’s for just £22.90 - the first CD has Spring/Summer and the second Autumn/Winter…

Anyway here is the card I made last night from the Autumn selection of images.  The card is a really simple quick and easy card.  I added some glossy accents to the berries so that they glisten, and three small copper brads to the corner of the card for added decoration.i384
