New Year’s Eve

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

Wishing you a Happy & Creative  New Year!  The new New Year’s Eve stamp is  ideal for making Quick & Easy cards, and just look at the detail and you’ll see ballons, party hats, top hat, stars, mask and clock face etc.  The stamp is E2351 New Year’s Eve from designer Leigh Hannan.  I have used it together with our black & white paper packs, rhinestines and Spica Glitter pens to create some quick & easy monochrome New Year cards.

Note the Bright Pink Rhinestones making the card ideal for the ladies!!

Unfortunately this card hasn’t scanned very well.  But I have used Black Glitter card which was cut with the Lg Scallop Square Nestabilities; added the Happy New Year sentiment from our UK exclusive stamp set WP16UK (which set includes all occasions and family names ie Auntie etc).  I have added some colour by colouring just a few of the details with the Spica glitter pens.

and finally another quick card.

I hope you like them and I look forward to sharing creative ideas into the next decade… what happened to the noughties?!!!

Vibrant Flower Card

Friday, December 18th, 2009

Just thought I’d share some cards which I recently created for some special friends birthdays.  These new stamps from AOD would make great Christmas gifts for any stamper and until 4th Jan 2010 we are offering FREE P&P..      I will be demonstating using this stamp selection at our forthcoming Kintbury January Sale event on the 9th January.  (If you need details please email me).

My best friend Jo has just celebrated birthday and this is the card I made for her.  I used Jo’s favourite colours yellows and orange.  These are colours I don’t use very often but I’m pleased how well the colours co-ordinated with the papers.

I know Jo reads my blog.  So I hope she likes it!!

Copic Debate 1

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

I have been asked today whether Copic Ciao Alcohol Markers should be stored horizonally or vertically?

ciao-sets

I store mine vertically (upright) in the Copic Display cases with the brush nibs pointing downwards as this is the nib I use most often.  (This probably stems from being told to store dye inkpads upside down!!).  However the markers can be stored either vertically or horizonally.  The most important thing is to make sure you replace the pen caps after use.

The Copic Ciao Markers are double ended with a brush nib one end and a chisel tip the other.  You can replace the nibs and the pens are refillable too.  The replacement nibs are now on order and should be here soon..

NB:  The Spica Glitter pens MUST stored horizonally as the glitter (micro glass) will clog the pen nib if you store vertically…  nibs_ciao1.

If you have any tips (no pun intended!!) join the debate ..

Snow today!

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

We’ve had snow today!!!  It didn’t last very long but at one point there was some really large flakes coming down..Wouldn’t it be great to wake up to a covering of snow on Christmas Day!!!!  It was the first time this year that I’ve worn my gloves - hence the Christmas Mitten card.  Brrrr!!!!  This card shows the Mittens stamped and also used with shrink plastic… if you haven’t used shrink plastic yet I really encourage you to have a go.  The Mitten stamp is on special offer but only whilst the limited stocks last…
